Thank you so much, Erica. I'm a very blessed author to be the recipient of such lovely messages from readers.
Please say hello to your mother and grandmother for me!
The over-arching inspiration for this book hit late one night while I was watching a news magazine-type show on parental alienation.
An American man, David Goldman, was trying to get his then four-year-old son, Sean, back from Brazil. His wife, a Brazilian native, took Sean on vacation to Brazil and never brought him back.
I just ached throughout the story.
I'm so glad you loved If You Find Me. Thank you for taking the time to come tell me!

Thank you, Vickie, for your kind words.
There may be a manuscript flying around somewhere, winks, and I'm presently revising two others.
I promise to come back to Goodreads and update when the time is right.

Hi Chiara,
What a lovely note. I'm so glad you love IF YOU FIND ME.
As for your question ... I grew up writing poetry, which has always come naturally to me.
When writing fiction, the lyricism leaches in, often to the point that I have to consciously tone it down. My beginning drafts often contain lots of unintentional rhymes!
When I write, I'm very attuned to the cadence of my sentences. They have to sound just right. It drives me crazy sometimes during editing, because of this sensitivity to "sentence sound".
I hear words like one hears music. But it makes it easy to weed out the clinkers!

No, IYFM (as of right now) is a standalone; I hope you enjoy it. : )
Enjoy the 5th Wave! I've heard wonderful things about it!

Hi Jordan.
It's a possibility ... although I'm working on other projects at the moment.

Hi, Abbey.
Too many favorites to mention, but I love a good orphan or underdog story!
I find myself partial to stories where the characters undergo meaningful transformations from the inside, out, much like in Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad you enjoyed the novel! : )
One night, I was up late watching a news magazine program on this case:

I couldn't shake it from my mind or heart. Carey and Jenessa's story grew from there.
