I had a heart attack and subsequent (6) bypass surgery the year before, and as I was recovering from that, I decided it was now or never. Writing the novel was a wonderful experience; I'm hooked! I'm presently planning out both a prequel and a sequel. I expect to write the prequel in 2026.
