I worked in the auto auction industry for about 4-5 years. I absolutely loved it and did it with my mom. After losing her, it was a type of therapy for me. I got to remember the times we had as block clerks and working with all the auctioneers and ringmen. We loved the fast pace of the auction world. I wanted to write about something that I know and something that I haven't read about very often. This was it for me.

I started my second novel shortly after finishing my first, but it is going a lot slower. It's a dual timeline, and I'm pretty excited about it. But it's been a lot harder to write than my first one. At least draft 0 has been harder to write since I know a little more about how to write.

So far, I'm blown away by people actually wanting to read my book. It makes me want to keep writing.

Since I haven't been writing for very long, I haven't had this too much. But when I have, I have read other books similar to the one I'm writing. The biggest thing that helps me though is talking with other author friends and getting some ideas by bouncing some off them.
