(view spoiler)[Hi can you please tell me when Nix's memories were taken away, why did she retain memories of Nate but not Cal? She knew who they both were from training camp, this was before she slept with Cal or Nate. (hide spoiler)]

Hi Piper,
Nice to meet you!
Nix retains memories that happened outside of a mission. So in the case of Nate, she dated him during a work hiatus. Cal is a bit more complicated in that they fell in love during a mission. When the mission was over, her memories were removed which included her time with Cal. Sadly for Cal, he still remembers.

While I love the paranormal genre, I wanted to try something new after writing six of them in the last few years. With each book, they usually start with a flash of a character or a place. The idea for Over Easy came while working on two other novels during 2013. I made a note of the idea, wrote a blurb then put the idea away. I was finally able to plot the story this spring and I've been writing it ever since.

Some days writing is a joy. Words just flow and it all looks good. Those are the easy days.
Most of the time, I plant my butt in the chair, put my fingers on the keyboard and just do it.

Write. Write. Then write some more. Also, recognize that writing is a business and rejection won't kill you. Sure, you'll be disappointed but it will also make you stronger. There are so many would be writers or people who spend more time talking about writing. Don't be one of those people. Finish what you start. Continue to learn. And most importantly: Never give up. Never surrender.

Gosh. Seeing my ideas come to life on paper. And sharing my stories with other people. I love, love, love to read and I love to write. I've met so many wonderful people over the past few years. That, by itself, has been worth the price of admission.

I don't believe in writer's block. But I do believe that not knowing where your story is headed can lead to indecision which can ultimately slow or stop progress. My method for dealing with days where the words won't come is to write anyway.

A contemporary romance called Over Easy. This is the first time I've written a novel outside of the paranormal romance and urban fantasy genre.
