Just keep writing, every single day. I personally keep a daily journal. At first my journal was more of a travelogue but it grew. Now I find I write more about the people I have met and how they have influenced or helped me. I write about the miraculous things I see and enjoy.
The hardest thing was having stories I loved rejected, but you have to keep trying and keep re-writing.
