J. Gary Sparks From a dream. Now I'm speaking of Carl Jung and Arnold Toynbee: The Social Meaning of Inner Work (due out mid September-ish 2017). The book came out of a dream that there were two themes I'd be working on for the rest of my life, the relation between images and science and the relation between images and history. The Jung and Toynbee volume is obvious a response to the latter. Beware of short dreams! They can give you big assignments!
J. Gary Sparks It's kind of like an ache inside to get what I have inside me into the outer world. Friend and mentor Jungian analyst Marion Woodman once said to me, "You have to get what is inside you outside, otherwise it will make you sick." I've never forgotten that.
J. Gary Sparks An essay on the image of Abraxas in Jung's Red Book, I think this will expand into a comparison with the image of the Star Mother, also in the Red Book. I'm obsessed with the images shaping (in the background) the attitudes and values and actions we participant in as members of our society.
J. Gary Sparks Sharing my ideas with others, seeing them make a difference, making friends with others who have similar interests.
J. Gary Sparks Honestly, I almost never suffer from this condition. I have so many ideas in my head I'm always glad for a rest. If I feel really stuck on the odd occasion, I'll sleep on it, go for a bike ride, dream up and cook up a yummie bowl of pasta.
