Catching up on Jonathan Kellerman. I'm way behind on his books. Also the second in the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson.

I used to be a police officer. There are several things I've seen that could be used. But there was this one: What happened to the small guy who jumped over a wall, carrying a refrigerator. Who was he? Where did he come from? How was he so freakishly strong for how small he was?

There's a reason you have writer's block. Usually, it's because you put too much pressure on yourself to write something "fantastic". Don't worry about that. Do what you need to eliminate that stress. You can always edit/change/discard anything you write. It's all fluid.
If I have trouble writing, I first move to the less stressful form of handwriting on a legal pad with a pencil. If that doesn't do the trick, I take a hard look at the last thing I wrote: did I take a wrong turn, do I have to research something, does it fail to move forward?

I don't wait for inspiration. I write, whether it's good or not. I can always edit, or even discard, it.
