Andrew C. McDonald The best thing about being a writer is the chance to create entire universes out of your own imagination. The hope that others will enjoy your stories is also a definite plus.
Andrew C. McDonald Currently, I am working on a second thriller novel titled "The Killing Keys." I am about a hundred pages in and hope to finish it within this rapidly upcoming new year.

The Killing Keys is about a young man who works with his uncle in a locksmith shop while also doing valet work at a local upscale restaurant. The antagonist of the story sees an opportunity in this and ropes our main character into criminal activities until he is in over his head.
Andrew C. McDonald Throughout my entire life I have seldom ever been seen without a book in my hand. Reading has kept me sane and introduced me to worlds and cultures of all type. As a voracious reader who enjoys writing, it seemed only natural to try my own hand at a novel. Only the readers can decide whether I have accomplished anything worthwhile, but I hope you will give it a chance.
Andrew C. McDonald As a small child I attended the first and second grades in Taipei, Taiwan due to my military father having been stationed there. During this time I contracted a disease in my feet which had me crippled for approximately two years. Due to this, I became an avid reader and have maintained a lifelong love of literature - especially Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and Thriller / Mystery.

Coming from a military family enabled me to observe first hand various cultures and belief systems at a young age. This left me with the overall impression that all people are just that - people, regardless of their race or nationality. Upon growing up I attended college in Florida on a military scholarship, leading me to enter the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1985. During my seven year term I was active duty for Operation Desert Storm. After departing service, I obtained employment as a 911 police and fire emergency dispatcher in December 1992. As of today I still hold this job.

All the above is a long-winded way of explaining the extensive background I have in both police and military environments. Drawing on this experience, I wrote a novel entitled "Punishment and Good Deeds" centered around a recently retired Air Force commando who gets unintentionally caught up in a battle with organized crime. Calling upon some friends of various backgrounds the main character is forced to fight against the narcissistic whims of a wealthy criminal in order to save the lives of himself and his family.
