Peter Mitchell Clive Barker's Weaveworld. It's a patchwork world of magic, woven together into a carpet. The best, and only, parts of a world that could be saved from destruction by human greed and superstitious zealots. Read the book and you'll understand. Barker does an excellent job of immersing his readers into the Weave and the characters of both our world and theirs.
Peter Mitchell "I can't let you get away with this," Fran whimpered.
The barrel of the gun shivered against her temple as her thumb cocked back the hammer.
Peter Mitchell I am on a classics kick lately, so I just started Joseph Heller's 'Catch 22'.
It's interesting so far and I'm drawn in by his humor.
I just finished Franz Kafka's 'The Trial'...good lord, it's like watching an accident happen on the highway. You want to look away, but some primal part of your psyche compels you to keep watching. I didn't have any expectations going in, and that was probably the only way to truly enjoy the story - though, I'm not sure I actually enjoyed it...read it and you'll understand what I mean.
Peter Mitchell It would be a Kafkaesque story (don't we all have one?) dealing with the fundamental mysteries of our existence on this planet, how we fit in the universe, and whether there is a point to our existence beyond the trappings of futility.
You know, something lite :)
