I get inspired by TV shows, other books, and just talking to people about ideas that come up. Sometimes, my inspiration comes from the least likely of places, like the mall or driving in the car.

The best thing? I get to create new worlds and characters! It's like being a parent without paying for college ;-)

Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman, a novel written by one of my students (The Ignition of Light, Shivani Saini), Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, plus I'll re-read Gaimain's The Ocean at the End of the Lane. :)

Most recent novel is a sequel to my 2nd (Memory's Curse). The ideas are part of a series (which will be 5 books). I get most of my ideas from Greek mythology and fantasy fiction, mostly.

I am wrapping up my third novel in the Task Force: Gaea series, The Liar's Prophecy. It's in the beta reader stage currently, and it should be out late spring 2015. Once this is out, I will be finalizing an anthology that ties into my second novel, Memory's Curse.

WRITE! If you aspire to write, you should. Don't worry about it being bad or good. Just write what you love. If you put enough passion into it, you will find an audience for what you like to write. The finished product should always be proofread/edited, but the topic should come from your love of and passion for something.

I typically read comic books or watch animated movies... maybe a live-action superhero film (since I write mythology based stories, these help). Other times, I just write something unrelated, and it tends to unblock me.
