Getting to tell the stories I want to tell, and being my own boss. There is total freedom in being a writer. You get freedom of imagination and freedom of time. I love it. It's the best gig in the universe.

If you love writing, just write. It doesn't even matter if you think it's any good. Just write what you love. Write the stories that interest you. If they interest you, chances are they will interest a lot of other people, too. Those people, the ones who like what you like, are your audience. So, write for yourself, and you will find your audience.
Also, get it all down on paper before editing. Write the whole thing. If you edit as you go, you'll never finish it. Write it all, even if you think it's horrible, and know you can always edit it as many times as you like until it's perfectly polished. The important thing is to write the whole story first. It's a terrific feeling, finishing that book, even if you know it still needs work. You finished it! Congratulations! You're an author.

It came to me in a dream. It was just one scene, but the male protagonist, along with his name, was there. The female protagonist was there, too, but she didn't have a name yet. The scene was really detailed and I remembered it fully when I woke up. It was so compelling, I kept thinking about it, and soon wrote the entire scene so I wouldn't forget it. That scene led me to flesh out the entire five-book series. The scene from the dream is currently planned to appear in Book Three of the Angels and Seers series.

I'm inspired by a lot of things...dreams (which is where I got the inspiration for my Angels and Seers series), history, people I know, things I wished happened, personal fantasies, etc. I can turn nearly anything into a story, and I see stories in almost everything.

The second volume in my Angels and Seers series. This story is called Angel on My Shoulder, and it continues where Earth Angel left off.
I'm also working on a serialized novel for a fiction writer's website. This one is a time travel romance with an intriguing, history-changing twist. I'll post more when it's up and ready to start reading. I think you'll like it.
