My latest book is a murder/mystery set in a small college town in upstate New York. I live in a college town in upstate New York. Another intersection. My son served as an army officer in Iraq in 2006-7, and brought home vivid accounts of an Iraqi government betrayal that led to the deaths of many of his fellow soldiers, and his participation as an escort officer in an army murder trial. It all contributed to the creation of my lead character. I was also intrigued by the concept of placing a tough, old school, ex-military officer in an evolving college environment that embraces alternative lifestyles and cultural inclusiveness.
