Yurii Ivchenko I’ve looked into Listopia, yes. It’s a great concept, though a bit different from typical promotion since authors can’t directly control it.

From what I see, it becomes effective once readers start interacting with the book and adding it to lists on their own.

That’s something I’m gradually working toward — building an audience that would naturally bring the book into those spaces.

Do you use Listopia often when choosing what to read?
Yurii Ivchenko Hi Emily,

Not in the traditional sense. I don’t usually write structured “1, 2, 3” type lists.

My style is more focused on flow, short observations, and psychological moments. Sometimes I use list-like fragments to highlight patterns, but I keep them integrated into the text so it still feels natural rather than formatted.

I’ve found that this approach works better for the kind of emotional and psychological depth I’m trying to convey.
Yurii Ivchenko Hi Emily,

It depends on the stage the book is at. Right now, I spend around 1–2 hours a day on promotion — mainly focusing on connecting with readers, sharing insights, and building a consistent presence rather than pushing direct sales.

For me, it’s less about quantity and more about maintaining meaningful engagement over time. I’ve found that this approach works better in the long run than aggressive promotion.
Yurii Ivchenko This summer, I’m reading psychological fiction like Celeste Ng’s Little Fires Everywhere and Ian McEwan’s Atonement, which inspire my work. Check out my novel The Art of Being Real: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F9TXJ6FJ.
Yurii Ivchenko A mystery in my life is how small moments shape who we are. This inspired The Art of Being Real, a novel about uncovering authentic selves: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F9TXJ6FJ.
