Alex Lukeman The flame from the torch in my hand cast flickering yellow light about the tomb of the Egyptian sorcerer. The stone lid of the sarcophagus moved with a harsh scraping sound, just as the door slammed shut behind me and the torch went out.

Alex Lukeman I'm waiting for Michael Connelly's newest "Bosch" book to come out. Also hoping for a new offering by Alex Berenson. I tend to not plan reads but choose spontaneously. Most of my reading these days is on a Kindle, so there are many, many choices.

Alex Lukeman Hi Frances, Yes the books do stand alone, but like every series it is helpful to start at the beginning. The characters develop over time, there's a history and things change. Thanks for asking.

Alex Lukeman The creative process, when it's flowing. The surprises your characters bring you.
Alex Lukeman The only way I know of is to keep at it. Write a scene, a paragraph, whatever and don't worry about whther it will work in the book or not...
