Jordan Standridge Just my own for the final, final... seriously, FINAL, edits. lol Every single time I look at my manuscripts (even after I've sworn to myself they *are* done), I add, change, or delete something. An author friend of mine told me, "They will never be perfect!" But a perfectionist is hard to convince. So I aim for perfection, strive for excellence, and (try to) accept what is. lol
Jordan Standridge Both have to do with black horses: Black Beauty and The Black Stallion.

For Beauty, I'd do whatever I could do to start the humane treatment of horses (and other animals) the world over earlier than when it got started in real life. (This book actually did start the movement.) Anna Sewell and I would've been great advocates working together!

For The Black, what a thrill it would've been to be there, and see that race in person! Seabiscuit and War Admiral, Foolish Pleasure and Ruffian... Modern match races (even if one had not ended tragically) would be hard to compare to an unknown horse who took on the greatest horses of the time, and win. A true underdog story that kickstarted a new life of adventures for The Black and Alec.

Although I have personal feelings on racing (lifelong equestrian that included racing), there *is* a beautiful thrill in watching horses run. The grace, the power, the heart. I just prefer them to run without manipulation.
Jordan Standridge For my real name (Jordan is my pen name): Information on who I was named after. My mom named me after her mom's favorite cousin. That's what I was told since I was a little girl.

At my grandmother's funeral, I met the most elderly members of the family (my grandmother's age) for the first time ever, and asked them about who I was named after. They'd never heard of her! But I have photos of them together as girls and young women. It was her real name. No amount of searching has been fruitful. It's a true life mystery!
Jordan Standridge I came, and I saw. In order to save my own life, I left.
