Deborah Bruss For children's writers, join SCBWI and mine their site for lots of helpful information. Write what you love. Join a critique group and be open to listening to what other authors have to say.

Deborah Bruss Middle-grade historical fiction about two girls, one American and one an English war refugee, who may have stumbled across Nazi spies on a mountain in Maine.

Deborah Bruss I usually have too many ideas, so I work on the one that is nagging me the most.

Deborah Bruss I love what I do!!

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Deborah Bruss I move on to something else, whether it's writing or eating or letting the dog outside. I know that staring at a screen will get me nowhere.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Deborah Bruss I was reading "Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site" and thought, "But snowplows don't get to go to bed at night.
