I was inspired by Shrek and what would happen if a bunch of Latine teens were forced to explore a fantasy world while very much NOT wanting to. CEA was my jokey response.
CEA's first draft took me about a month to write. Yeah, that sounds fast, but that first draft was NOT good.
Finally, while everything is made up and the points don't matter, almost everyone in CEA is Latine-coded and some of the places the MCs explore are inspired by real places I've been to in South America.
