Anything can trigger an idea - I find that just day to day conversation can result in an idea for another murder. A particularly annoying person can trigger all manner of idea!

I am working on a book about a group counselling session - being one of my books it obviously includes murder, however, this book is different once again. It is quite emotive as it covers the question of abortion, I hope that it will be well received.

Do it! Put pen to paper, or finger to keyboard and just see what comes out. You may find that at first it feels wrong, that you are not ever going to get the words out, but with practice and focus it all starts to come together. The best tool to finishing a book is to write a story board - a map of where your book is going; where it starts, what the middle is and how it is going to end. Do a short paragraph for each chapter and there you already have the makings of the book. Good luck and enjoy it.

I suppose the knowledge that you have the power to change the story. Some books I have read, I have not been happy with the ending or feel like certain areas haven't been explored. when writing my own books I have ALL the power, that's a good feeling.

Hi, I do have periods where I just can't be bothered to write. I know where my book is due to go and how I am going to face the challenge, but something inside me just can't put the pen to paper. I have embraced that and said - I am not going to write for now, but I will start again in the New Year. I hope this will spur me on to continue when January comes about. Thanks for your question x
