If I come across a piece of story that won't budge I set the work aside and move on to something else. Usually within a week or two the corner I've painted myself into will dry up and I will be able to figure a way out of it.

If you want to be an author there's only one real piece of advice; write. Write as much as you can. If you have a minute at work use it writing. If you're in class and not really paying attention it's time to write. The more you write, the better you'll get.

Inspiration can come from anything and anywhere. A painting, a song, a news story. All of these things have inspired me in the past. Though it may be difficult to see the original work in the story I am typically inspired by art much higher than my own.

My most recent published novel "All The Rage" was inspired by recent programs, (television and films), and novels about exorcisms. Though most of them have been interesting they do not show the negatives about the ritual or the factual practice of the original rites. Essentially the entire novel was written so I could write the exorcism scene.
