My advice would be to keep at it. There will be times that you get discouraged (speaking from experience and something that I have gone through just recently) but know that the more you work what you love the greater the reward :-)

Being able to write so many different worlds and about so many different people. I love being able to live in other worlds when I read other authors work and love to be able to help others leave reality, if only for a little while :-)

Dealing with writer's block is different for each author I believe. I tend to do something other than write (ie: color, draw, read) as well as burn some rosemary incense :-)
