Rachelle Ayala I would go to Ile d'Amour, a fictional, heart-shaped island in the Windward side of the Caribbean, known for its spices, chocolate, and active volcanos, especially one Mt. Passion, from whose caldera offers a breathtaking 360 degree view with the dappled boulders of the caldera on one side, the bright blue ocean on the other, and the colorful roofs of the town below.

In Jade: Perfect Match, Jade and Aiden hike the scenic and rugged trail to the caldera for a memorable date while staying at the Secret Heart Villa, a luxurious and decadent love nest with teak-paneled walls, large bay windows overlooking the ocean, and a covered lanai festooned with tropical plants leading to a deck with an infinity pool and a steaming hot tub.

From Bride for Breakfast:
A semicircular harbor, Bonet Bay, nestled between the two lobes, and a mountainous spine of volcanic craters jagged down the center, separating the two lobes, windward and leeward.

The windward side, facing the Atlantic, was rugged and undeveloped, with steep cliffs dropping down to razor-thin, white sand beaches. Most of the tourist resorts and wealthy enclaves were on the gentler leeward side, where lazy bays full of sailboats met wide, shallow beaches bordered by swaying palm trees and stunning sunsets.

A large harbor was nestled between the two lobes of the heart on the northwestern side of the island, facing the warm Caribbean. Cruise ships docked there.
Rachelle Ayala Hi CK Alber, My characters are not consciously based on anyone I know. They are an amalgamation of ideas, scenes, situations, and people I experienced with a heavy dose of imagination.

I'm truly surprised at how many of my characters turn out. I live with them while I'm writing and in many cases, I feel like a method actor. After I'm finished with a book, I feel like I know them better than their therapist would.
