What are you currently working on?
Mitchell Hagerstrom A historical novel that begins in 1714 Bermuda, then travels to the Chesapeake in Virginia, and ends in Thunderbolt, Georgia (near Savannah).

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Mitchell Hagerstrom No commute. My desk is equidistance from my bed, my bathroom, and my kitchen. I use a standing desk, so I get health benefits.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Mitchell Hagerstrom A glass of Chilean red wine is great for dealing with writer's block.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Mitchell Hagerstrom I've always been interested in writing about my early childhood with my grandparents in 1950s East Texas. But turning it into a fictionalize memoir occurred when my brother forbade me to write about him! Still, he's in the photo on the back of the book -- so technically not 'in' it.
