Elizabeth Noyes Easy answer, I've long been a fan of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, set somewhere in the distant future (or is it the past (the Third Age?). I love this fantasy world, and want to be an Aes Sedai in the White Tower, one of those women blessed with the ability to touch the One Power. Yeah, that's for me.
Elizabeth Noyes I do a lot of what I call "sleep writing." It's that in between state when you're not awake and not asleep, when your body is at rest but your mind is still running. I visualize scenes, run them through like a movie reel, rewind, replay, tweak, and polish. I might play a scene a dozen times before I commit it to paper. Other times, I hit a homerun on the first pass. It gets really interesting when I tackle complete dialogues!
Elizabeth Noyes Write. Something. Anything. I love scenes, but connecting them, making them flow within the story, can sometimes be, well, work. And sometimes the work part gets in the way. When that happens, I often skip ahead and indulge in a new scene -- whether it's for my current WIP or one not even on the radar. Sometimes you just gotta write what you want to write.
Elizabeth Noyes With cast of thousands rambling around in your head, all clamoring to have their stories told, you're never without entertainment!
Elizabeth Noyes Know why you write, and then allow no one and nothing to discourage you from doing it. Writing in itself, transcribing a story from your mind to print is the greatest reward.
Elizabeth Noyes I'm currently working on Book 3 in the Imperfect Series entitled Imperfect Truths (working title). The series follows the lives of the 5 adult Cameron siblings. Book 1, Imperfect Wings, told the story of Garrett Cameron and a feisty accountant, TJ. Book 2, Imperfect Trust, pitted Wade Cameron and a brilliant computer analyst against hackers and a stalker. Book 3 is Cassie Cameron's story, as she struggles to restore relationships with her family and a hunky deputy.
Elizabeth Noyes Many of my ideas come from the exotic places I've visited over the years. People watching also comes into play--I love quirky characters and try to find homes for them in my imagination.
