The book that was most recently published 'The Wife of a Lesser Man' was inspired by a deep conversation that I had with a dear friend. We were chatting about adultery and what would happen if you got mixed up with the wrong guy. What made it more interesting was the idea of the adulteress being married to a police chief....now that made it interesting.

I'm always inspired to write. The list of story ideas I have is cumulative. It's finding the time to write that is the challenge. Mostly my story ideas come to me as I wake up in the morning or after taking an afternoon nap; don't ask me why. They also sometimes come to me while I do yoga...again; don't ask me why. As long as ideas keep coming I'll take them; in whatever form they come in or whenever they come.

Two manuscripts sit on my laptop as we speak. A thriller, 'Betrayal Only Comes in Green', and a romantic suspense, 'When Will Knocks at Your Door'. The second book in my romantic suspense series is due out in December and my third memoir, 'No Thanks, Mommy, I Peed Yesterday' is coming out in the fall.

Just keep writing. I heard the best inspiring quote just the other day: "Keep writing. The water cannot run unless the faucet is on." Writing every day really helps exercise the mind and stretches the capacity to write. And you're going to get rejected...hundreds of times...but eventually somebody will offer you a contract. It took me eight years. Never give up.

Freedom to make up stories and utilize creativity in a form that is both personal and fun, and to be able to do it when I please and as I please (you don't have to do it within the hours of 9 to 5). Also, being able to stretch my own creative abilities by writing in different genres and exploring new writing opportunities (ie. blogs, etc.).

I'm fortunate to never get writer's block. That may change, but for now I usually have notes written from my last writing session. I read through the last block of writing I did and then scan my notes; writing comes quickly for me when I do this. Working on one of my manuscripts a little each day also helps to curb writer's block.
