Mostly I'm working on the third book in my series. Plus, I'm putting the final touches on a Romantasy.
Twenty-year-old Ruby Walker spends most of her day trying to stay alive. She doesn’t have time to believe in giants any more than she has time to believe in vampires, Santa Claus, or the mythical stairway to heaven. That is, until she uses the strange staircase tucked in the forest to escape from the latest creature trying to kill her. While hiding, she’s apprehended by Raiden, a giant with stormy eyes and disturbingly large fangs. He takes her up the stairs—not to heaven—but to his realm for the crime of trespassing.
Upon arrival in the Fiefdom, the giants insist she’s the key to their salvation. They promise sanctuary to her loved ones if she agrees to marry a First-Born Son of nobility and become Queen. To protect them from the dangers at home, she signs the blood oath and is given four weeks to choose a husband from the Fiefdom’s most eligible bachelors.
But some giants are opposed to having a human on the throne and they want her dead. While dodging assassination attempts, Ruby wonders if she’ll make it to the altar before she loses her head—or her heart.

If the words aren't forthcoming, I walk away. I find focusing on something else often clears my mind and usually the story finds its way back to me.

Funny story. One of my best friends bought me a psychic reading for my birthday. In our friendship, I'm the one grounded logic and he lives in the world of anything is possible. Trying to keep an open mind, I went to the reading where she told me I was destined to write a book. Ha, Ha! Initially, I thought she was a bad at her job. While I'm an avid reader, there was no way I could write a book. But here we are. . . So, was she a good psychic, or is this a self-fulfilling prophecy? I'll never know. But what I do know is that the strangest gift I've ever received, is the one that changed my life. Thank you, Jesse!

My husband gave me the idea. He started talking about wanting to write a book (he does this often!) about twins who only had powers so long as they were together. I thought to myself--what if they had a little sister? My idea started out as a YA thriller/horror and somehow morphed into a paranormal romance! Funny how characters change your plans:)
