Eden Connor Yes, I do plan to keep writing this series. We will see all the characters in prior stories through the eyes of the next couple, etc. Ideally, there'd be a minimum of ten-to-twelve, so we see all the starting players get their gal. But, by wrapping up each couple's story, maybe less reader discontent while they wait on my sow-typin' ass.
Thanks so much for the enthusiasm for this series!
Eden Connor No.... I detailed some of my excuse--er, issues in another question from a reader, here: https://www.goodreads.com/questions/9...

If y'all keep asking for this story, I'll be forced to tackle my problems and finish writing AIW! :D
Eden Connor I'm really behind, too. It's harder than I anticipated to obsess over two stories at one time. I spent a year obsessing over Good Wood, and let this freebie series fall by the wayside. I hope to do better this year. It'd be nice to put out the February part of this story in, oh...February of this year.
Thank you so much for the enthusiasm. Happy, hungry readers keep me going when I get frustrated by my slow pace.
Eden Connor Hi, m.

There are two obstacles to finishing these stories. (Yes, I had always planned to write Charlie's story).
1. the first three novels are written in 3rd person. Since working in 1st person, starting with Rain on Me, I've struggled to return to any 3rd person writing. As an indie, I suppose I can change the POV type at will, but..it might feel jarring to the reader.
2. There are two versions of this story on my hard drive, both woefully incomplete. One focuses on Jay Jarious and his relationship with Sarah De Marco. The other revolves around Colton's struggle to get Lila down the aisle. I'd like nothing more than to figure out how to tell both stories at the same time. Once I hop that hurdle... we'll be closer to seeing An Intentional Walk--the story with the most hilarious wedding ever, and a lot of upheaval for the De Marco family. Then, I would put Charlie's story on my schedule, after finishing AIW. Charlie might be up to some stuff his mama won't much like :D
So, to answer your question: No real news, just a peek inside my dilemma.
Eden Connor It's gonna be a minute.
The story's in progress, but not first in line. I'm trying to finish up a couple others before I focus on this one.
The best way to know is to join my (dusty) newsletter. No spam, I'd never share your email address, and I *might* send one a month. If there's no news of a release, I sometimes join with other authors to bring you a list of free romance ebooks: http://eepurl.com/bnHapH

Thank you so much for the enthusiasm! Messages like yours keep my ass in the seat and fingers on the keyboard.

Eden Connor I don't have a release date set for the story, it's still a work in progress. The only thing I do slower than talkin' is typin'.
But, I do plan to write two more after Need for Speed, one from Caroline's POV and one from Marley's. :D

Eden Connor We will!
After I untangle Dale, Robyn, and Jill's story (it'll be a while before that is done) I plan to write one from Caroline's POV as well as one from Marley's.
Then, we'll see where we stand and if I need to let Shelby bring us home one last time, or if we've met someone else along the way who needs her story told. I'm in no rush to end the series, as long as there's a story left. :)
Eden Connor No ETA yet, I'm still flip flopping on who should tell this story, Robyn or Dale or Jill. Or all three. (But I really want to stick to the single POV since it's worked so well for this series and I enjoy the ability that gives me to hide the other characters' thoughts) I have snatches written but nothing I'd call a manuscript so far.
Eden Connor I do know this answer. (grin)
I make my free books available on every major platform.
Partly to gauge reader reaction in the form of reviews.
See, Amazon pays me a 70% royalty share to remain exclusive.
They also pay me per page read if I put my titles into Kindle Unlimited, which I have to be exclusive to Amazon in order to do.
So, when a free book is getting few or no reviews, I know that I'll lose money to put the paid titles in the rest of the series on other platforms. The Amazon royalty share drops to 35% immediately.
At the end of the day, I gotta eat.
But, the good news is, there's a Kindle reading app you can download from Apple or directly from Amazon that will let you read my stuff from Amazon the same way you currently read your iBooks.

Thank you so much for reading my books, as well as for the question.
Nice to meet you, Tracey :)
Eden Connor Okay... here goes. There are no projected dates, but:
Need for Speed (TCC4) will see Dale and Robyn deal with their past, and show the relationship between them and Jill with some tricky flashback stuff. (Rpbyn's POV)
Balls to the Wall (TCC5) will show us Caroline and Jonny's unfolding relationship--and of course, we'll see what's going on with Shelby, while Dale and the team work to get HannahBuilt ready for the new season. (Caroline's POV)
Checkers or Wreckers (TCC6) is Colt and Marley's story, which will take us into NASCAR as a setting, and let us see what becomes of their relationship. (Marley's POV)
Depending on where I am with the story's world and the characters at this point, there may--or may not--be a CC7, that would be told from Shelby's POV again, and wrap up the story arc with a big old juicy bow. Think babies and weddings. No title in mind for this one. Somehow, Diapers and Wipers isn't quite right, but it does make me laugh.

Thanks for being a fan!

Eden Connor The bad news is, I tossed every word and started over, back in October. The good news is, I'm at 111k on the new draft and the end's in sight now. Issues on my editor's end mean this thing probably can't launch until December, but it's a lot closer (and a million times better) than it was before.

Thanks so much for the enthusiasm, Cjay :)
Eden Connor No mistake on your part, but an issue on my end. This is reposted from my Facebook author page:

Pedal to the Metal's release is delayed yet again.
I hear your groans. That's been my problem all along. I know you want the end of the story. We all want Shelby to find her HEA, me most of all. This is like being pregnant for the eleventh month. The doctor--who'd be my editor in this example--is saying the baby will come in it's own time, but all I can think is that my family's giving me the side-eye for holding back on them.
I even fooled with the idea of adding another book to the series, so that I could end the tale where I am (on another cliffhanger) and release *something* today... but face it, nobody wants half a damn baby, me least of all.
And so, Pedal to the Metal will be born in it's own time, after I sit back and figure out what the merry hell I'm missing. I have to identify what's causing the damn thing to run to over 108K words and yet, the conclusion, the ending that is so real and so perfect, you read it five times before you close the file, continues to elude me.
That problem is never solved at the end of a story. The seeds of it's imperfection lie somewhere in the middle, meaning I have to backtrack and weigh each scene. Figure out what stays and what goes, or what the hell I haven't nailed down on paper, and then, re-write from that point.
Not a thing I can do under pressure. Such is the pain and joy of being indie. No one has to be pleased but me. Because if I'm happy with it, you'll be happy with it, long after you forget your annoyance because you rushed to the hospital with flowers and balloons, only to find the expectant mother has been sent home to wait.
I won't set another release date until I have typed 'The End' and feel good about it. Once I do that, the file will go to Nomi, my editor. She has a life too, so my inability to hit the deadline she and I agreed on will affect how fast she can get to it.
