Mac and Barrons from The Fever Seriesby Karen Marie Moning, because they evolution of their relationship is so suspenseful. It's hot and honest and is packed with the perfect balance of nail-biting frustration and satisfaction. I love when they fight - both wordlessly and out loud, and I love it when they make up.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your question. I definitely ran into writer's block with Wake and War and Wonder. I'm not sure exactly why. I think, mainly when writing a trilogy, it's challenging to keep the stakes up,to keep the romantic tension high through three books. That was hard. I don't think these challenges are really preventable, but having an oultine to work from can at least ease the pain of writer's block. Hope this answered your question!

It just came to me, one day when I was sitting in church. I should have been listening to the pastor, but my mind drifted. I started thinking about all of the things that teens deal with today, all of the recent tragedies, including suicides, at our local high school. Why do these kids with bright futures in front of them, make a decision to end their lives? Why do they make so many bad decisions? I know about the studies done on teenagers' brains - the studies that show that their minds are too undeveloped to see far-reaching consequences of their behavior. I took it a step further than that. What if someone, or something, was silently persuading them? What if it was spiritual warfare at work in the teenage social arena? I went with that, and out came Whisper.

The mundane inspires me. My children inspire me. How do I get inspired? I wake up in the morning.

Writer's block is so tough. The best way to work through it, for me, is to just keep writing. Even if I know an idea is not great, I go with it and see what other avenues it takes me down. I'll find the right path as long as I don't give up and sit on my hands.
