The best thing is to explore different genres, ones you normally wouldn't read or think about writing. Be open minded and just write! Also, don't worry about what other people think. Write what feels right to you and the story.

I get to play make believe! I always say being a writer allows you to tap into unknown worlds and lives. I love creating something from nothing and watching how my characters evolve and grow. I'm like this really cool puppet master.

I usually have to walk away from what I'm writing for a bit and crank up some music on Spotify. I also love to just get away and go on a trip with my family because going to unfamiliar places really helps to refresh things.

Music always inspires me. Whether it be a single line, the way the music sounds, or the emotions in the tone of voice the singer expresses. I'm also a people watcher. You just never know what will trigger a story in me. My most recent release, A Life Unexpected, was birthed from just a crazy idea of other world's and "beings" after I heard the song, "I'm With You" by Avril Lavigne. I can even pinpoint the exact part of the song that made the characters come alive.
