Gordon Bickerstaff When I was a student I went to a seminar where photographic evidence was to be presented of the Loch Ness Monster. Evidence gathered by eminent US scientists. Like many, I wasn't convinced and I wondered what the US scientists were really doing in Loch Ness. With this mystery, I created a plot which is revealed in my multiple award-winning third book, The Black Fox.
Gordon Bickerstaff The review has been sent to Amz UK. Not sure why they are taking so long to post it. I'll check back in a day or two and re-send it still hasn't posted.
Gordon Bickerstaff Hi Curt, they are all stand alone stories but the first three books have an overarching thread, which will make sense if read in order - Deadly Secrets, Everything To Lose, The Black Fox. Hope you enjoy!
Gordon Bickerstaff Hi Bev, I liked your feedback on my review of Cruise To Murder. It's a cosy mystery/suspense story. If you like cosy mysteries, you might like this one.
Gordon Bickerstaff Hi CeDany, Nice to meet you here.
Sometimes the book and the film can be chalk and cheese. Personally, I thought the Bourne Identity movie was better than the book. Others might disagree. Ian's Fleming's books are easy to read and the movie producers do a great job translating Fleming's ideas onto the screen. Not all of them are great but there are some excellent ones I've watched over and over again.
Gordon Bickerstaff Read other author's books with an editor hat on. Look at how they write, how they develop the story, how they build a character. Everything that you need to be a good writer can be found in well written books.

Gordon Bickerstaff Write two books at the same time. When I'm writing a novel I also write a book of short stories. When I'm drying up on the novel I do some work on a short story.
Gordon Bickerstaff My sixth novel in the Lambeth Group thriller series sends Zoe and Gavin after terrorists intent on starting a war. Gavin discovers that they fund their terrorism by preying on the most vulnerable section of society. Zoe has to deal with death-defying issues and the most important decision of her military career. Loving the writing and the book with be available in Spring 2018 (tentative title - MURDER MOST NATURAL)
Gordon Bickerstaff By reading the books of other authors. Many you will admire and some you will think - I could have done better than that.
Gordon Bickerstaff When I was a student I went to a lecture that I found boring. I spent the whole hour dreaming up the idea and when others were writing notes I was outlining the book idea.
