Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Wendy Lawless It seemed like a logical progression to write about what happened to me, to other people in the story, after Chanel Bonfire ends. I was a very lost girl during those years, searching for myself, love, and happiness.

How do you get inspired to write?
Wendy Lawless Deadlines! But I also listen to music, look at pictures, watch films and read my journals.

What are you currently working on?
Wendy Lawless Heart of Glass - the sequel to Chanel Bonfire. The story picks up after I've escaped my crazy train mom, and move to NYC with aspirations to be an actress in 1980's downtown gritty Manhattan.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Wendy Lawless It sounds corny but corny is true, right? Believe in yourself. Just write. To quote Aleksander Hermon "There's a very simple rule of writing. It's all sh** until it isn't."

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Wendy Lawless Being able to do it anywhere. At the stop sign, the library, the coffee shop. And of course the best thing is having a new career as a writer at the age of fifty-four.
