Anne and Gilbert from the Anne of Green Gables series. I loved seeing their relationship unfold and deepen as I watched those movies as a teenager. I loved that Gilbert always cared about her and that Anne eventually realized she felt a lot more for him in return than friendship - though it did take more than six hours of movie to get there! :)

Thanks for your question, Staci! So glad you enjoyed Hope Rising. The third book A Hope Remembered does conclude that series. If you're interested in reading more of Of Love and War, though, I have an e-book only Christmas novella about Maria from Hope at Dawn and a free PDF novella on my website - www.stacyhenrie.com - about Alice and George from Hope Rising.
As far as what's next for me, I'm back to writing historical westerns for Love Inspired Historical. My second western with them The Express Rider's Lady released in February. I'm working on another two westerns for them and both are scheduled to release next year.
And who knows, one of these days, I may return to writing more WWI fiction. I really love that time period, so we'll see. :)

Kathy, Thanks for your question - I apologize for not seeing it sooner! I have not been to the Pony Express Station and Museum in Nebraska, but I would love to some day. :) There are a few Pony Express stops here in my home state of Utah that would be fun to visit as well.

My idea for HOPE AT DAWN (Of Love and War, Book 1) actually came about after I had the idea for Book 2! I wanted to turn that initial idea into a series, so I was considering what other story I could write. That's when I realized I could do a story about Livy, Joel's sister, and for good conflict, I'd have her fall in love with a German-American. Little did I know, just how much conflict I would discover as I researched what life was like for German-Americans during the First World War.

Reading a great book is one of the best ways for me to get inspired to write!

Finish your book! And then another and another. :) It's impossible to fix or publish an unfinished manuscript, but a finished one - and several finished ones - open up a whole world of possibilities.
