Great question. Sometimes I just stare at the blank page. Then against my better judgement I might surf the web. Then I'll go back and stare at the same blank page.(I might do this a few more times) Eventually I'll type something...anything that comes into my head. And lo and behold, if I'm lucky I'll be writing something which I'll actually use in my story.
