I've been following Colony Collapse Disorder for nearly a decade and have been wanting to write about it ever since learning about it. Only in recent years did a story develop that really took off. I suppose it's more of a coming of age story than anything else, but the backdrop is a our future without bees. Our own dying planet, and yet it sort of feels like it's happening yesterday.

I'm currently working on a series of short stories set in the same world as "A Land Overflowing." I've been inspired by the parameters of a world without bees and without helium, seeing how humans live and act and interact with each other and their environment.
