Donna Steele I can actually answer that - my husband and I recently downsized and moved to a condo (highly recommend it!) and during the move I discovered a story I wrote when I was seven! So that line that I've always written is true. That one won't be sent to a publisher but it was a wonderful find.
Donna Steele My horror story would be - He's here
Donna Steele I'd love to see New Home - the world I created in the Rth Rising series. It's wild and uninhabited. Like Lewis and Clark we'd be seeing it for the "first" time but without displacing anyone.
Donna Steele I'm never sure, but I know Cyn Hadyn's latest two books are on it and PK Corey's latest. Not sure when Dianna Duvall's next is due but it's at the top of the list as well.
Donna Steele I woke one night to find my grandmother standing at the foot of my bed, but she had died earlier that year - why did she show up? Never really explored it so far.
Donna Steele A hard one - I have some super memories of couples, but I guess my first loves would be Angelique and Joffrey De Payrac written by Sergeanne Golon - the Angelique series is translated from the French and I still search for the last three books translated someday. Of course Claire and Jamie Frazier of the Outlander series are way up there as well.
Donna Steele Write - I know that sounds like a duh! but it's true. You're not going to write a best seller every day, but a good habit is the easiest thing to break, so don't let yourself do that. Write every day, it's okay to toss it out later if it doesn't fit, or edit it to improve it, but write!
Donna Steele Hi! Not sure you'd call it a ritual, but I go into my office, shut the door and have absolute quiet. I know a lot of people want music, etc. but I tend to sing along. I don't answer the phone or the Hubby until noon. I avoid social media. It's my time and I have to set boundaries - not my easiest thing. But since retiring I've managed to complete six books (they weren't all started after retirement) so it works for me!
Donna Steele Rth Claimed is the second in the Rth Rising series - Kat and Davd have gotten out, but with thousands still trapped inside and under the control of Puter, they still have work to do.
Donna Steele Yes, several actually. I've just completed the sequel to Rth Rising - called Rth Claimed that will out in January. I'm completing a combined paranormal/small town romance - the first time I've combined the two, and have started the story of another of the couples from the Alien Embrace story. It gets kinda crowded in my head most days - LOL!
Donna Steele Well I prefer Science Fiction and paranormal so that's a little riskier just starting out than my small town romances. I'm currently working on a story that combines the two. I often leave questions not quite answered - I know a lot of readers have very vivid imaginations and love to fill in the blanks themselves (hence fanfiction!) I often let the characters lead me in the story - it's their tale I'm telling and they can get quite adamant when I go in a counter direction from what they expect. I've learned to live with that. Hope that answers the question.
Donna Steele I have a WIP currently called Alien Encounter - when a dying planet sends one their inhabitants here to help save us from their same fate, she meets and falls in love with her perfect mate.
Donna Steele I read, it relaxes me and get me back in a rhythm. Also, I walk away from the laptop and pick up and pen and tablet. It's amazing how the feel of the paper brings ideas to me. Works great where there's no power too!
