I go for a run. Sometimes I just sit down and start. When I find myself procrastinating, I decide to get a few tasks done - do some laundry, answer phone calls or pay the bills - then I seem to be able to get to it. Sometimes I write pages that won't be used and may seem useless, but those words and ideas lead me where I am going.

Not having to wear lady clothes every day. I write in my PJs, the same outfits I have worn for days, my ski coat, hat and pants when it is cold, my smelly running gear and occasionally in a fresh outfit.
I also like the idea of getting all my thoughts and ideas wrangled into an organized piece. Not only does it clear the hard drive, but I have a record of some big thoughts for the time in life when my memory drifts away with the wind.

Don't wait for perfection. Get your story, theory, idea and thoughts out. Engage some trusted friends to do your first edits and get it out there. Too many people wait for a number of reasons. My mind and life are so cluttered that I don't have the attention span or time to worry too much about approval.
