A.D. Koboah Hi Julia

I loved the trailer for Dark Genesis :-)

They are three very different books so it’s hard to answer that question without giving the plot away. They all have the elements you liked, but the second book is narrated by Avery and the third book by Dallas. But I sent you a message with coupon codes so you can download the books for free from Smashwords.

I hope you’ll let me know what you think of the other two books – whether good or bad.

Thank you again for the trailer of Dark Genesis, it really made my day.

A.D. Koboah Hi Alex.

Thanks for your question and for such a nice compliment. I really appreciate it:-)

I found dialogue really difficult to write when I first started writing as I’m someone who doesn’t talk much. And when I wrote my first book there was hardly any dialogue in it so I had to go back and do a lot of revision to include dialogue. I tend to be a good listener - which is one of the things that makes me a good writer, but meant I struggled a bit when it came to writing dialogue. But I find it much easier now and prefer writing dialogue for characters I detest – or are very different to me - as I usually base the character on someone I know or someone in the limelight.

I hope you enjoy reading my novels. The first book I published, Dark Genesis, is free to download. Here's a link to download it on Amazon.

Have a good week.

A.D. Koboah Hi Toni

I saw your review this morning and really appreciate it. Thank you. :-) The idea for the novel came about at around the time that the Vampire Romance genre took off. I think a lot of people think being turned into a vampire would be a good thing but I think it would dehumanise a person and put them on the margins of society. So the novel started with the idea of the vampire – someone who had been dehumanised by being turned into a vampire and had been alone for decades. I pictured this vampire before the burnt ruins of the chapel and I was asking myself what kind of person could understand and fall in love with someone like that and decided that it would have to be someone who has also been dehumanised. A slave. And that’s how the idea for the novel came about.

As for how Avery saw Luna before she was born, I touched on it briefly in chapter 24 in the section about Luna’s “dreams.” Luna is the one who is able to make him see her during his years in the wilderness but she doesn’t know how she does it.

The rest of the books in the trilogy are actually quite different from "Dark Genesis." Book 2 is narrated by Avery and begins just before he goes to America and ends in the present. Book 3 is narrated by Dallas. I hope you enjoy the rest of the trilogy.

A.D. Koboah Happy New year, Charmer!!!
I mostly worked on screenplays of The darkling Trilogy last year, but I have began work on another book about The Timeless Ones which is a vampire origins novel. I have a lot of research to do so I can't say when it will be finished, but I should be able to give you guys a rough idea sometime this year.
I hope you have a fantastic year new.

A.D. Koboah I'm not sure what you mean by this. I'm on twitter and Facebook but haven't opened a group or anything. Let me know what you mean by this.
A.D. Koboah Hi B.D.
I'm working on screenplays of The Darkling Trilogy at the moment. I have finished working on the screenplay for "Dark Genesis" and the first draft of "Rising Dark" and I'll begin sending it out to producers soon.
A.D. Koboah Hi B.D.
Thanks for getting in touch. My website is www.adkoboah.com. But I'm having problems with the site at the moment. It should be back up by the end of the week. I'll send you a message once it's up and running again.
A.D. Koboah Hi Maelanie

I meant the discussion they will be having on Incidents in the Life of a slave girl on the Women's Classic Literature enthusiasts forum.

https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

It should start in a few weeks time and I hope you'll join in as it would be nice to get imput from someone who knows so much about American History.
A.D. Koboah Hey Maelanie
I think you messaged me by mistake as I can't think of what you mean. At first I thought you might be referring to an interview, but I haven't done any interviews in a while. Let me know what you meant.

A.D. Koboah Hi Manoushka

Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed "Peace." :-) I do have something in mind for a sequel to "Peace," but I don't think it would be as interesting as the first book so I probably won't write it. but I can tell you that Peace does end up leaving Ghana to be with Jason and that I may end up writing Eva's story.

Thanks for your question and enjoy your weekend.

A.D. Koboah Hi Manoushka

I can't say!!! lol. The third book, which is narrated by Dallas, is finished and is getting a second round of edits. All I can say is that Dallas definitely keeps things interesting in the third book and that I believe in happy endings - although it might not be quite what people are expecting. Lol. That's all I can say for now. But I will keep everyone posted on the release date for the third book.

Thanks for your question and your kind words about the first two books in the trilogy:-)

All the best,

A.D. Koboah Amber, I'm actually scared to answer this question as I'm so bad at keeping secrets that I'll probably give away the ending to the last book without even realising it:-) So all I'll say is that I got some feedback on the first draft of the novel from my editor yesterday and she was happy with the direction I took the novel in. I'm so sorry but that's all I can say:-)

A.D. Koboah Hi Carla.

Thanks for your friend request and for asking such an interesting question.

When I started writing The Darkling Trilogy, I wasn’t sure myself that people who have been dehumanised can find their way back. But somewhere along the way, I decided that some people can find their way back. Avery is one of them. Others either never do move past their dehumanising experiences, or it takes them an incredibly long time to do so. I do believe that some people who have been dehumanised do go on to dehumanise, or oppress others, often in order to have the control/power they didn’t have. But not everyone. This is just my personal view which you’ll see played out in the trilogy.

Thanks again for asking such an interesting question. Feel free to ask more question or if you want me to clarify anything I've said.

All the best,

ADK. x
