L.T. Marie Hello

Honestly, I'm not into the fantasy realm. I know lots of people enjoy it but as I told my readers before, I enjoy writing about romance. Even Secrets and Shadows was a challenge for me because of the stalker element although it was fun to write about a crazy person.

Thanks for the question!
L.T. Marie Hello Kamille

I start with the names of the characters first. I like interesting names or names that appeal to me. I tend to stay away from the more common names due to overuse in stories.

As for cities, I use areas that I'm familiar with or have visited. Once I have a feeling for the location and character, then I do a bit of internet searching to give some credibility to the character's backgrounds. I've also conducted a few interviews from qualified individuals when I can't find the answers I'm looking for or am confused with terminology.

Thank you so much for your question!
L.T. Marie I think of a character and then I start writing. Sometimes, it might take me weeks to flesh out the actual story, but it always starts with one character who stands out.
L.T. Marie Simply, I wanted to write a story that had a horse in it. Dax, the stallion in the book, is not the center of the story, but he makes for a couple of good laughs. From there, I created Coal, who is the horse trainer, and then Jay, who is the contractor who will work on Coal's house.
L.T. Marie I turn off the computer and walk away. You can't force the words. They have to come naturally, freely. When they start to flow again, you press the power button on the computer and start again.
L.T. Marie You can write when you want. Creativity can't be rushed. You either feel the words, and they spill out on paper, or you don't.
L.T. Marie Never give up. Words are powerful and if you feel your words need to be heard, then write them down for all to read.
L.T. Marie I'm currently working on my 5th release, Beyond the Ridge, which will be released in April of 2015. It's the longest story I've ever written and contains the first characters I had ever sketched out on paper. Beyond the Ridge was also the first book I had submitted to BSB when I was aspiring to become a writer. They wanted me to wait to release the story until a later date because my editors felt the characters needed more time to grow. After writing the last draft, I'm truly glad I did.
