Tony Stewart Try to sit down and write (or fail to write) for at least fifteen minutes every day. Don't wait until you can assemble a block of several hours. If you work on your project every day, even a little, it stays alive in your subconscious - you'll have those eureka moments in the shower or wherever. Then when you do have more time, you will be primed to have a much better writing session.
Tony Stewart I love having license and encouragement to sit down and let my thoughts flow onto the page. I'm a nonfiction, memoir writer, so even when I try to write a "story" it is really about me, my feelings about the world, something interesting that happened to me. I love the process of examining these feelings, figuring out how to shape them into a piece that someone would actually want to read. It's part therapy, part craft, and entirely exciting to me. Which is not to say that it's EASY. I've got plenty of bad writing days and plenty of false starts, just like any other writer. But when the words flow or I get deeply immersed in an editing session, nothing could make me happier.
