READ. You can't be a writer without first being a reader. Read everything, especially bad writing. It's not hard to find. That's what you'll learn the most from, I think.
A very close second is WRITE. Write about everything. Write stories, poems, journal entries, recipes. Every time you write, you'll get a little better. You have to write some pretty bad stuff before you start writing the pretty good stuff, so get started, write some lousy prose, and you're on your way.
