Geoff Boxell Sorry for teh delay: I have just found this!
I will follow up your suggestions: thanks.
All well this end, just me getting pissed off with the Covid lock-downs NZ is now having and the resultant cancellations of Medieval re-enactment events and camps.

Geoff Boxell I am head of a Medieval Household, The Wulfings. In order for people to develop a period character I require a back-story from them, which I then help to polish: not always easy as some want to be something other than a 14thC English archer and I have Maori and a Ceylonese in the group.
The latest book: The Dark Daring Deeds of Geffrey ðe Wulf
contains stories that are further expansions of my Household members' back stories, woven mostly around actual events in the life of Sir Alan de Buxhall K.G., Constable of the Tower of London to Edward III & Richard II.

Geoff Boxell I have always read a lot and at school, from an early age, I have written good tales. My grand-daughter seems to be following me in this, so there may well be another "Boxell" author in a few years time.
Geoff Boxell Nothing at the moment. I have an idea floating in my mind about the poor soul who nailed Jesus to his cross, but I need to do a lot more research on the period, which is not one I have much knowledge on at present.
Geoff Boxell Don't give up. Don't ignore advice from someone who has read your script - preferably as soon as you have a chapter or two written.
If you are writing historical fiction, as I do, please, please get your facts right.
Geoff Boxell You meet such interesting people (talking about my characters here).
Geoff Boxell Not something I have ever suffered from, possibly because I have a good idea of how my story will run, I have a rough time line and my characters soon find a voice of their own and even go their own way.
