Esther Claes It started as a writing exercise in writing a true story disguised as fantasy. I just made fantasy counterparts to real people and told the story symbolically. The rest of it grew on its own.

Esther Claes I'm not good at dealing with writer's block, which is probably why I'm not terribly prolific as a writer. Quite often, if something is giving me trouble, I'll move on to something else and work on that. There's no rule that says you have to always write from beginning to end, so skipping around to sections that are more cooperative is my best strategy for dealing with writer's block.
