J.J. Carlson That's a tough one. These are much trickier than they appear. How about this:

"The game was hide and seek. But as I searched the musty cellar beneath our home, I found a man I had never met before."

Thanks for asking!
J.J. Carlson It would have to be Tolkien's Middle Earth (although hopefully during a time of peace).

The rapid pace of modern life sometimes makes me long for simpler times. In Middle Earth, I'd spend as much time exploring the forests and mountains as I possibly could (something I can't seem to find enough time for in my non-fiction world). Thanks for asking!
J.J. Carlson My genre preference varies based on the season. During the summer, I like to read thrillers--especially spy/political thrillers.

Among them this year were "The First Commandment" (Brad Thor), "The Last Patriot" (Brad Thor), "The Terminal List" (Jack Carr), "The Kremlin Conspiracy" (Joel C. Rosenberg), and "The Deceivers" (Alex Berenson).

I might squeeze one more in before the leaves and the temperatures begin to fall, but the transition to another genre has already begun. Thanks for asking!
