Crissy Moss I average 600-1000 words a day, every day. I rarely take a day off, so I end up with about 250,000 words written a year for the last four years.
Crissy Moss The only way to fail is to stop writing. I took a ten year break from publishing only to come back with a lot of ideas, and start publishing again. Life happens, sometimes you can't write because life gets in the way, but you only fail if you never come back to it. And you're never too old to come back.
Crissy Moss I read what I've been writing, then start writing about why it's giving me trouble, or basic plot points of what I want to happen next. Invariably I come to a point that it's easier to write actual paragraphs then I can go back and fill in the notes later, or delete them.
Crissy Moss My daughter smiled in the mirror next to me. Then she turned and ran away, but her reflection stayed.
Crissy Moss Creating new worlds, new characters, having conversations with them, and imagining far reaching worlds and the effects of small things on everything around us.
Crissy Moss I am working on my next series, "The Half Blood Sorceress" about a young girl that discovers she is immune to fire and gets cast out of her village.
Crissy Moss Reading, listening to certain music, and by listening to podcasts about writing when I'm feeling a bit blocked. Usually the "block" is me no having confidence, so listening to the podcasts lift my confidence again.
Crissy Moss The "Witch's Trilogy" came from an old file of ideas about a young mermaid cursed to die as soon as she found love. When I started writing it I realized the novel was turning into a trilogy with the story broken into three parts. How she got the curse, what happened with the curse, and what happened after the curse. It was my first novel, and I was trilled it became my first trilogy completely on accident.
