Hmmmm. Tough one. I really had to think this over, but when I think of romances that really swept me away, I immediately think of The Selection series. I did want to smack America once in a while, but I really felt like I experienced her and Maxon falling in love. So, yeah, I guess I'd put America and Maxon at the top of my list.

Dunno. I’ve never had that problem. (Luckily enough, and knocking on every piece of wood I can find). Occasionally I’m not sure where to start. In that case I drop a character in a random setting and describe the setting from their eyes. That is usually enough to get me started.
