Thanks so much, Carolyn - I'm so glad you loved The Other Me! My latest novel is How It Ends, and the next one will be The Bench, out now in kindle and in paperback on September 3rd. Thank you for getting in touch. It's the best thing in the world to know that someone has enjoyed one of my books.

I tend not to have writer's block once I've started on something. But I do sometimes have periods between books when I have no ideas at all for the next one. I think those fallow periods are necessary - and I make the most of my time by doing as much reading as I can.

The pleasure of seeing your book in print is incredible. But the very best thing is when someone truly loves your story. Writing can be lonely and frustrating; but I feel so so lucky to be doing it as a 'job.'

Read. Read everything you can. Read as a writer - so notice how the book is structured and what tense it's in and if it's 1st or 3rd person. When you are ready to begin something, don't be afraid to get things down on paper - creativity often comes from mistakes - and the act of writing itself will trigger ideas.

I'm doing the final work on a new book out on kindle at the end of this year, and that will be published spring 2019. So I'm copy-editing and will be reading the final proof soon. The next stage will be looking at possible covers - always exciting!

Anything can trigger inspiration: a news item, a picture in an exhibition, a snippet of over-heard conversation on a bus, an idea that comes while I'm thinking about something else....at the moment I'm waiting for inspiration to strike!
