E. Hughes Hi, is this Richard B? If so, I have an email from you this morning. Is that from you or someone who may have gained access to your email address? I would also consider deleting this question as it could cause your new email address to become compromised. You don't want to have that information out there publicly. The email I received today had your humorous tone to it. Was that you or someone else?
E. Hughes This might sound corny but, Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy. I'm a huge Jane Austen fan and I can read this book over and over again and still care whether Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy will be together.
E. Hughes I seem to find characters who are looking for a story. I start with a character and build from there. Was does he or she look like? What are their goals, heartaches, or pain? What makes them happy? What is the end goal? Sometimes the characters write themselves. I'm just along for the ride.
E. Hughes A sci-fi I've been trying to finish for 18 months. Sometimes if the story is clicking or spilling out of me, I suspect it's not meant to be finished. But I DO want to finish this one so I guess I'll just keep plugging away!
E. Hughes If you're writing to make money...stick with non-fiction or self-help. The public can smell desperation a mile away. Otherwise, if you're writing because you love it, doesn't matter if you sell thousands or books or dozens. You're telling a story, and as long someone out there is willing to read it then you have accomplished something. You have created something for someone else to enjoy.
E. Hughes Isolation. Creating characters who seem like real people.
E. Hughes I find something else to do until inspiration hits. Crochet, read...etc.
