Initially reading a book from the Museum of London said to be the definitive exploration of the Jack the Ripper murders which made me wonder about the conditions of the East End of London during the 19th century. Further reading of the history of this area/period led me to believe there was much scope for imagination and interpretation of events of that time.

An idea for the first pages of the first chapter of my first book flew into my mind about 20 years ago and lay dormant until I had time on my hands when a new venture was slow to take off. I started writing to fill in time and as very shortly I wanted to finish it.
