It's Christmas time in Lagos right now and there are a ton of chickens waiting for be eaten. If you make eye contact with them, you just might feel sorry for them. So I thought, what if one of those chickens had been a shifter? What if I'd taken him home? What would have been the result?

Usually music and psyching myself to write. I tried all of last year, waiting for inspiration and it never showed. And when it did, it was so infrequent, I wasn't a fan of what was birthed then.

Find love with editing. Remember that to err is human (especially when you're writing and there's no connecting thread or nothing makes any sense) and to edit is divine (an opportunity to turn your good book into something more amazing? Hell yeah! And that's what editing does.

I think the best thing about being a writer as far as I'm concerned is the privilege of sharing a story and characters with people actually willing to be with those characters for the duration of the story, and allow themselves to get carried away with the story.

To be honest, I don't do very well with writer's block. When I run into a wall, previous me would have dropped the story and gone and started something else, leaving me with stories written halfway through. Now? I write everyday. Nonstop. Except for the occasional holidays. I've realized that the frequent writing keeps everything fresh and allows me to put myself in the character's shoes when I run into a block. It really helps.
