Zahava D. Englard We all have skeletons in our closet and as a writer, I like to draw on them. However, which skeletons I choose will remain a mystery. It's more fun that way.
Zahava D. Englard A third book, my second novel weaving current world events into a tale of abuse, betrayal and ultimately triumph. Like my first novel, The Gilboa Iris, the main thrust of the story takes place in the United States and in Israel.
Zahava D. Englard With patience. I prefer not to force thoughts onto paper. I find it better to take some time, go for a stroll, or sit on my terrace and let my mind do the wandering.

Zahava D. Englard It just happens. It's a feeling that comes over me, which makes me want to put thoughts and experiences into words.
Zahava D. Englard The idea for The Gilboa Iris came from bits and pieces of real life. From mine and from others. Having known people who have lost loved ones in war and in terror attacks, I took their experiences and mine and wove it into a suspenseful tale with elements of adventure, love and historical relevance against the backdrop of global terror, showing a very human picture of defiance, optimism and triumph throughout the intricate thread of the story. I wanted to provide more than just a glimpse into Israel and what it's like to be Israeli.
