Carole P. Roman I never am stressed about deadlines. The books are a labor of love and because I am the publisher, writer, and chief bottle washer, the only one I answer to is myself. I won't let anything stress me, but if it does, I take deep breaths and I do some yoga.
Carole P. Roman I had a contest and Italy was chosen. The pirate idea came from an incident where one of my grandchildren was being a little know-it-all. I wanted to write out a story that explores what happens when you don't listen to your playmates because you think you are smarter than everyone.
Carole P. Roman My children and grandchildren inspire me to write. When I get a letter saying that someone loved one of my books and it helped their child deal with a dilemma makes me want to continue. When I meet a parent who gushes about the cultural books- I want to go home and write some more.
Carole P. Roman If You Were Me and Lived in...Italy. Another story for Captain No Beard. I ma handling the release of my son's book Monsterland. We are still working on marketing Pokergeist and Witches Protection Program.
Carole P. Roman Just write as much as you can. Get a good social marketing person. Be prepared to invest in marketing, and work it as much as you can. I spend more time marketing our (my son's and mine) books than writing.
Carole P. Roman It's your universe and you get to do everything the way you want. There are no laws of physics, nobody to tell you "no." It's just you and the characters. I feel like I am five again and playing make-believe.
Carole P. Roman I walk away from the story for a day or two, then go back to it and reread everything. Usually, reading it from a fresh perspective gives me new ideas.
